Gameplay FAQs

If a "Margin Call" is played against me, I should only be able to get the cash back at the end of the next round. What happens if a "Margin Call" is played against me during the last round?

A "Margin Call" is intended to only temporarily deprive you of the benefit of the cash. If a "Margin Call" is played against you during the last round, you may still get your cash back at the end of the game and it will still contribute to your final portfolio value.

What happens when I play "Forward Contract" during the second last round of the game? Will my final portfolio value be calculated based on the final Scenario or the Scenario captured by the "Forward Contract"?

The final portfolio value is calculated based on the last applicable Scenario of the game. In your case, since your final applicable Scenario is the one captured by the "Forward Contract", your final portfolio value will be calculated based on the Scenario captured by the "Forward Contract".

During the Call for Modifiers, is there a need to follow a turn order i.e. First Player plays Modifier(s) first, followed by the next player?

There is no need to follow any turn order during the Call for Modifiers . In addition, if a Player draws another Modifier while replenishing his/her hand after playing a Modifier, he/she may choose to play the additional Modifier as well. There is no limit to the number of Modifiers that can be played.

What happens when two or more Instant cards are played at once?

The card that is played first will take effect first. Of course, "Not Allowed" will still be able to negate the effect of an Instant card played before it.

What happens if the Bank runs out of Stocks, Bonds or Gold?

The Antitrust Law kicks in. Refer to the Special Mechanics section in the rulebook for more information on the Antitrust Law.
